Enjoyed a bit of a pre-holiday brunch today. Great table by the window for people watching. I enjoyed my French favorites- bread, escargot, and Croque Monsier. Many large groups- busy Sunday just after 1230pm. I would usually get mousse but the host recommended the serial bread pudding. It was excellent.

Petit Robert Bistro lands at a solid 3.5 stars for me, but I'll round up to 4 thanks to the service and ambiance. A group of three of us ended up here for dinner because it was one of the few places open with availability around Back Bay. With no reservations and limited options, it worked out, but while the service and menu were great, the food itself wasn't quite as impressive. The French onion soup was just okay -- the consistency was a little strange and not what I'd hoped for. My chicken dish, served with Brussels sprouts and potatoes, lacked flavor and seasoning. The veggies especially were underwhelming, almost like they'd been boiled with nothing added. My friends ordered the short rib and steak, and theirs looked a lot more promising than mine. On the bright side, the wine list was a win. They had bottles under $40, which is a rare find in Boston and definitely appreciated. The ambiance was another highlight -- it really felt like stepping into a cozy Parisian café. Overall, the restaurant is intimate and charming, the kind of place where you'd want to spend hours unwinding. While the food wasn't anything to write home about, the atmosphere and attentive service made it a pleasant dinner.

Dined here last night with a group of about 15 people. Service was excellent. Food was from a preset 3-course menu (because of the large group) but very good. I had the roast salmon which was excellent Our seating area was a bit cramped for a larger group. It was also a bit loud and difficult to hear other people in the party. I'd definitely like to try this again and try bar items and food from the full dinner menu.

Great local French spot. Service is great and all of the waiters are such sweet and helpful. Great outdoor patio in warmer seasons- perfect for a spritz and yummy dinner Started with an aperol spritz and for dinner had the Demi poulet rôti with a glass of Sauvignon blanc- with tip came out to $75 and was very happy with it! For lack of a better word, the chicken was very moist and I subbed the roasted potatoes for mashed which made it 10x better in my opinion. Definitely recommend if you're looking for a yummy, comfort meal with nice ambiance in the south end.

Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 4/5 Very cute spot in the South End, perfect for meeting up with friends on the weekend. Came here on a Sunday morning at 10:30AM and it was very easy to get a table inside without a reservation. Charmingly decorated inside. Menu is very French - my smoked salmon potato waffle with capers was delicious! The waffle texture was different, but didn't taste overwhelmingly of potato. Would come back here again if I'm in the area.

Went to Petit Robert Bistro last night for dinner and drinks with friends. We were seated outside at first and eventually they moved us inside as soon as a table opened up, which was very accommodating of them. However, there was a mix up with our drinks after moving indoors and the waiter didn't come back to take our order for another 10-12 minutes. Finally we placed our orders. I'll start with the drinks. I got the vin chaud which was perfect for a cold autumn night: not too hot and it came with a cinnamon stick. After dinner I got the bleu elegance and the cappuccino martini. The bleu elegance was refreshing and delicious, the cappuccino martini good but it's basically an espresso martini with baileys: a bit too creamy for my liking. For an appetizer I got the French onion soup which was delicious, savory, and everything you'd expect. For dinner I got the beef bourguignon which came with a side of mashed potatoes. It was very good but not amazing and for $39 I expected to be wowed. They also give you a small, warm baguette and butter for the table which was quite good. I'd come back, I enjoyed myself and had a good meal, but it's a little pricy and not superb. Ambience: 5/5 Service: 4.5/5 Food: 4/5 Drinks : 5/5
